Believe it or not, I didn’t even start listening to podcasts until about a year ago. I thought podcasts would be just another thing like TV or reading that I would always be trying to keep up with, eating my time when I could be working.
And you know what, they are another thing that I’m always trying to keep up with. But it’s different than TV and reading. I get information out of podcasts. I get to hear really interesting stories. I get to be challenged into thinking about a new point of view. I love podcasts because I get so much out of them.
So, I thought I’d share the love and tell you about my favourite podcasts these days. Here we go!
This is a podcast about Instagram! Yeah, there are podcasts teaching you about the ins and outs of a specific social media app. The creator, Sara Tasker, teaches the listener either by simply sharing her experiences, or by interviewing other prominent Instagrammers. She covers topics such as buying followers, brands, and the artistry of Instagram. I’ve found this podcast hugely educational.
Side Hustle School
10 minutes, 365 days. Chris Guillebeau (gil-ih-boh) shares 10 minute stories everyday about people who have made substantial money off their side hustle ideas. His philosophy is that, while it’s nice to have a stable 9-5 job, everyone should have at least one side hustle gig that they are completely in charge of, so they can have extra income that can be spent on the frivolous things in life. This podcast is short, sweet, and crazy inspiring!
Good Life Project
Here’s where some crazy stories come in. Our host is Jonathan Fields (if you read this post you might have seen that I am currently reading his book), but every other episode features an interview with people from all walks of life. Through these podcasts, you learn about the guests’ journeys and get their thoughts on how to live a good life. Sometimes it gets hippy-dippy, sometimes it’s beyond believable, but it always finishes on positive note.
This one is my ABSOLUTE FAVOURITE. Last summer I read The Happiness Project by Gretchen Rubin and really enjoyed it. When I learned that she co-hosted a podcast with her sister called Happier, I immediately subscribed. I love this show so much. It features easy-to-apply and quick tips for making daily life a little easier, specific advice for different personalities (she has a book coming out regarding this), and stories of the sisters’ own experiences trying to make their lives happier. Gretchen and her sister are incredibly smart and pleasantly entertaining. I am always so excited when the theme song for this podcast comes on.
Those are just a few of the podcasts I’m listening to these days, but they’re the ones I’m particularly enjoying. Are there any podcasts out there that you think I should be listening to?
Spread the love! Spread happiness!
