Well, we’ve reached the end of our First Thing, Phone Free challenge, and I have to say it was a huge success!! There are mornings when I don’t even think about turning to my phone for my first activity of the day. There are also mornings where I really have to work to do something else.
I can tell I’m still a little addicted to the phone because, when I’m getting ready in the morning, a major motivator to do so is to finally check the phone. But habits are built slowly over time, right? In itty bitty baby steps.
Going First Thing, Phone Free, however, is definitely something I can see myself implementing every day for a long time. I’m becoming more aware of my sleep needs, and growing more comfortable with being without the phone for a short time.
As for next month’s challenge, I give you…
The Hydration Challenge
This challenge is a little bit of a reconnaissance mission in figuring out how much water I’m drinking a day and trying to figure out about how much I should be drinking a day. For the first week, I’ll track how many cups of water I drink in a day (that in itself will be a challenge because I’ll get really lazy about it), and the final three weeks will be spent trying to find that sweet spot of drinking just the amount of water I need.
The Hydration Challenge will be difficult because the most reasonable advice I could find online about how much water a person should drink daily was to drink water when you’re thirsty, and stop drinking water when you’re not. Pretty simple, but not a whole lot of structure. Wish me luck!
