Having access to free writer resources was huge for helping me plug along my writing journey with confidence. And it’s a great way to get started if you’re new to writing, are currently unable to invest in further education, or aren’t sure what to put your hard-earned money towards first.
This is not even close to a comprehensive list of free writer resources, but these are just some I’ve tried out and enjoyed.
I’ve mentioned Pagan Malcolm a few times here on the blog. In fact, I’m currently taking a mini-course of hers and am in her membership community. But I started off by stalking her on social media (as one does!) and soaking up all the information there I could find. She has a blog and a ton of freebies for writers to learn from. She also regularly posts videos on her Facebook group and has a podcast!
Kristen hosts the Well-Storied blog (where yours truly has contributed an article!) and the Well-Storied podcast. She recently published a book on writing that is currently waiting in my to-read file on my Kindle.
#AmWritingwith Jess and KJ
This podcast is hosted by Jess and KJ, who are two well-established authors with TONS of experience between the two of them! They’ve written non-fiction, fiction, articles, papers, etc and they have so much knowledge to pass on about their experiences writing and publishing.
Hope*Writers is a paid membership community for writers of all types, but they do have a podcast that gives sneak peeks into their live video chats with publishers, agents, and writers that members have access to.
The Author Inside You podcast
While I’ve only listened to a couple episodes so far, I like this podcast because it’s short and sweet.
Are there any free writer resources out there that you would recommend to others?
Enjoy the journey!
