Notebooks and pens.
The writer’s obsession with notebooks is real. Very real. We love the potential of all those empty pages waiting to be filled with our genius. And of course, our pens keep disappearing.
Books about writing.
On my wish list is On Writing by Stephen King. It is apparently the king of all the books about writing. I’ve also enjoyed The Secret Miracle, which is a compilation of advice from several prominent authors.
Books in general.
Writers get better at their craft by reading other books in their genre. Just buy them a good book!
Tea, teapot, teacup, other tea-related things.
Coffee-related things are fine, too. Really, just fulfill the stereotype that writers like hot beverages and you’re good to go.
A gift card to their favourite coffee shop.
I love writing at my local coffee shop, but I don’t love forking over my money every time I want to do that. Give the gift of a fun place to write without the entry fee and give your writer a gift card to the coffee shop. Maybe they’ll even treat you one time!
