Did you wake up this morning feeling a little sick to your stomach? Did your teeth feel extra gritty? Are your spirits a little low after the high of running around town gathering an unhealthy amount of free candy? Are you disappointed to wake up realising it’s November?
You, my friend, might be suffering from a Halloween hangover. Totally understandable. Who doesn’t love getting the chance to dress up and be somebody else for a day? Who doesn’t love free candy?
But here is my cure for your post Halloween blues: thinking of all the awesomeness that is coming!
Unless you already powered through your whole pillow case in one go, (kudos to you, you beast) you have the rest of your candy to look forward to eating over the next while. Yay for prolonging the memories and joy of this year’s Halloween haul.
Some of you might feel the urge to hit me when I say it, but I’m looking forward to the arrival of the first actually-here-to-stay-for-the-season snowfall. You can look forward to waking up one morning to a sunny winter day that makes the snow glisten like billions of tiny crystals. On those days, winter is beautiful.
In less than two weeks, the Christmas season starts! YAY! We can look forward to carols, present shopping, elaborate lights, concerts, gingerbread, ugly sweaters, all that good stuff! Unless you’re one of those people who just isn’t really into Christmas… In which case, I just want to give you a hug. And a copy of The Nightmare Before Christmas. Baby steps, my friend.
And lastly, to get you over your Halloween hangover, if you’re really really really into Halloween and just don’t want to let go, you can start planning next year’s costume! You’ll be the best dressed, for sure.
