I’m what I like to call a Covid-bride. The fiance and I got engaged November of 2019 and started planning our wedding early 2020. Well, you know what happened next. The pandemic! But that didn’t stop me from celebrating with a bachelorette party.
My first tip, have an amazing sister/maid of honour and bride squad who love you so much they’ll throw you the best party ever! But here are some other things that made this bachelorette such a fun time.
I didn’t think I’d be the kind of bride who insisted on buying a bunch of different white outfits for all the little celebrations leading up to the wedding, but I caved, and I did. For the YXE fam, I bought a short maxi dress from local shop Tonic and I am in love. I will be wearing that thing to as many summer events as possible in the years to come (except weddings of course!).
My maid of honour also hooked me up with a rocking fake flower crown. It was heavy duty and so stunning!
For the longest time, I wanted my bachelorette to be a cross-city tour of local breweries and cideries. Doing that during a pandemic, however, felt a little irresponsible, so we cut that down to one cidery (Where I live, businesses and schools were open at this time with restrictions.). So we hit up Crossmount Cider Company! Unfortunately, they harvested the apples the day before our tour, but it was still a super educational time (always a nerd!) and we got to finish it off with samples!
Our other major activity for the event (also at my request) was a Paint Nite! Because of the pandemic, this Paint Nite was conducted via Zoom! The company sent us all the materials we’d need, we had multiple laptops invited to the meeting so we could all see, and our instructor painted with us from who-knows-where! And now I have a fun souvenir hanging on my wall.
Other fun activities included the classic Newlywed Game and a version of bingo based on the words I used to describe the presents I opened.

My bride squad is THE BEST. My MOH bought a vine backdrop for photos, but cut it into a V shape and added extra flowers to customize it! The bar was set up with a chalkboard that had our signature beverage fabulously written out on it (more on that later!). Add some cute sparkly gift bags with custom name tags, and this place was pretty!!
Food and Beverage
Firstly, the signature drink! So tasty and a hilarious name based on our own names. Mm, mm, good!
We ordered cookies from YXE maker SharpTooth Cookies. They were so beautiful!!! And extremely tasty, too!
Paired with custom napkins with our names and wedding date on them, the food and beverages also added to the party decor!
I had originally been planning to have a few more people at my bachelorette, but the pandemic had me lowering the numbers a little bit. It was me, my bride squad, and my closest friends (I’m talking the friends you celebrate every holiday with because they’re your other family). I was so grateful to be surrounded by such amazing ladies and friends.

Planning this wedding has been all about rolling with the punches and thinking up alternative plans as everything changes. One day everything’s closed, another day acceptable gathering numbers change. But I’ll have some amazing memories and stories to look back on!
Shout out to my bride squad! Y’all are amazing!
Enjoy the journey,
